  • I’m 43. I travelled to Chile and raced the Masters Downhill World Championships. And I want to show you what’s possible when you dare to go for it.

Whether you want to start mountain biking, become a better rider, or take the leap and race the Masters Downhill World Champs yourself. I hope my journey inspires you to give it a try.

You’re never too old to start. Never too old to improve. And never too old to chase a big goal. ❤️‍🔥

And if racing the DH World Champs in Chile has ever crossed your mind, here’s your sign. 👀

  • I know how hard it is to finally reach the right person and then deliver the perfect pitch.

I hope these tips help you feel more prepared. You’ve got this! 💪🏼

And one VERY important thing: NEVER LET YOUR PARENTS DO THE TALKING FOR YOU.

I work on both sides, as an athlete and with brands. And honestly? When a father tells me his son is the next Jackson Goldstone, I’ve already stopped listening.

You can absolutely ask your parents for help with your press kit, photos, texts, Instagram and everything else. But when it comes to talking to a sponsor, you need to do it yourself.

It doesn’t matter how young you are. You can learn and practice these skills.

You might feel nervous. You might stumble over your words. That’s okay!

An athlete who speaks for themselves, even if they’re a little insecure, shows that they genuinely want it and are willing to put themselves out there.

And that makes a much stronger impression than having someone else speak for you.

Believe in yourself enough to make the first move.
  • You can clear the jump. So why are you still hitting the brakes? 👀

Over time, I’ve found a few things that help me to commit to jump faster.

Try number 5. 👇

1. I study it once.
Walk it, check the takeoff, visualize the whole jump. One good look, then I stop.

2. The three-tries rule.
Try 1: Check it out.
Try 2: Build confidence.
Try 3: Commit.
No circling the same jump forever.

3. “Three, two, one, FUN!”
I say it out loud on the approach. It keeps me calm and moving.

4. I follow someone or let someone follow me.
Following gives my brain something else to focus on. Being followed makes me less likely to bail at the last second.

5. I use a sound cue. 🔊
I’ve clicked my tongue at takeoff on jumps I knew I could clear hundreds of times. Now I use that same click when I’m scared. It gives my brain a familiar cue and helps me get off the brakes.

Save this for the next time fear kicks in. ✌🏻
You’re welcome. 🫶

ANOTHER ONE YOU MUST VISIT and SAFE.

I keep coming back here. Mainly to race. Having two races per year and a lot of trails makes it very attractive for us.
Just few hours away from Vienna. Super chilled, nice maintained tracks, no queues, friendly lift stuff and good prices.

It has still open so follow @bikepark_kosutka to not miss their open weekends.
